Properties: white crystalline powder, recrystallization with benzene showed needle-like crystals. Odorless or nearly odorless, with bitter taste. 10% aqueous solution pH value is 6.5–7.5. Slightly hygroscopic crystals. Dry state is extremely stable below 50 ℃. Aqueous solution lightfastness is also good, and inorganic acid and alkali hydrolysis with heating is turned into nicotinic acid. 1g of this product is about 2ml of water soluble, 1.5 ml of ethanol and about 10ml glycerol. Soluble in acetone, amyl alcohol, chloroform, propylene glycol, butanol. Is almost insoluble in ether, benzene. Victory played the same role and niacin, have the same physical performance.
Usage: nutrition supplement, color fixative
Application: used for fortified in health food, or used as chromogen of meat products instead of nitrite(combination with vitamin C, dosage is 0.1%–0.02%).
